Wanja Asali’s Imera Itihanaine is a Meru-language song, and the title roughly translates to “the days are testing me”  which already tells you a lot about where this song is going emotionally.

It’s a heartfelt track about going through a hard season in life. Wanja sings it with a rawness that feels very personal, like she’s actually lived through what she’s describing. That kind of honesty is what separates songs like this from the rest.
